The Healthiest States Are
Americans are getting healthier, but where you live may make you even more likely to adopt healthier behaviors, according to a report published by the United Health Foundation, American Public Health Association, and the Partnership for Prevention.
The report ranks states based on several health factors, including preventable hospitalizations, violent crime, health insurance, infant mortality, child poverty, obesity, diabetes, physical activity, and immunizations.
The report found the Healthiest States are:
- Hawaii
- Vermont
- Minnesota
- Massachusetts
- New Hampshire
- Utah
- Connecticut
- Colorado
- North Dakota
- New Jersey
Meanwhile, several southern states landed on the bottom of the “healthiest” list: Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama were the least healthy states, accoridng to the report.
